Has anyone converted the after market JDM DD into a SD? I hate all of the kits out there since most don't even match the colors (willow interior) and the others have the rubber buttons that make the controls look like poo.


Is there anyone out there that has made this conversion. I'm going down to the local shop on Friday to see what the cost would be to make a slot and bracket to cover the bottom of the opening. If no one else posts ill post mine when its done.

(The reason for this request is that i have the old Alpine CVA screen and with all of the inputs you can still listen to your ipod or CD player while watching a DVD on the screen and unless i am unaware all the DD systems can't do that.)

 

I dont know what year, I believe its from a 4th gen maxima.. its an OEM single din pocket. Its flat black and feels very quality.

I'm being lazy because I could take a pic of our pathfinder with a single din 8000BT and this pocket. It actually looks pretty good.. well not better than a DD, but that wasnt a option, I needed a removable face as my wife has to park downtown sometimes.

 

Yes, go to a junk yard or ebay and buy an OEM nissan pocket from a maxima, pathfinder, etc from about 1999 and older. That or get the universal pocket that Metra sells. Available at any stereo shop/best buy/ccity.

Actually I've found the solution. Local shop will be installing a Turbo2 single/double din kit for me. They have a client that has a JDM DD console and in two months will be installing a custom console, $50.00 and the AC controls are mine. Problem solved!
