LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

Ok, we tried to have a complete box for you by this weekend. Well It did not happen. We got as far as the first box pulled from the mold. From here the grill still needs to be built, grill needs to be painted, and more sound quality tests need to be done. I know you guys are anxious for the enclosure. It is just taking some time building an original and sourcing all materials nec. We also want to make sure the fit and finish is up to par. It will be another two weeks before we can start shipping. I do not want to sell you guys something you are not happy with. Enough excuses here is the first pic of the first enclosure pulled from the mold. It is in black primer in the pics.

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

We made a cove cut out in the front of the enclosure to give it some shape. What would most of you like the box covered in?

A shot of it in the trunk. Remember this uncovered in its raw form.

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

And the most asked question is how much will it cost. Even though it is not complete I did promise that I would tell you guys. We are estimating at $299.00. If you wondering how the woofer mounts we are going to adhere diff. sized rings in the enclosure for diff. woofer mounting diameters. The mounting depth is 8". We are also coming up with a diff mounting idea. I will keep you posted.

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

I do not see any issues using the 8W7. The 10" will require the removal of the grill. We would use a 1" ring mounting baffle for the 10W7 that would make the woofer become flush with the front of the enclosure. It would look fine you just would loose the protection of a grill. I want to listen to the 10w7 in my enclosure before I sell it though. Let me know if you are interested. What would you want it covered in? Carpet, vinyl, or would you want it in its raw form so you can paint or cover it yourself?

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

just a thought...but since the idea is a stealthy factory like install, it might be nice if it was covered in the same color felt type material on the sides of the trunk.

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

I would either want it RAW or Vinyl....

Please let me know how the 10W7 sound with this... currently I have a Elemental Design e10a.22 and I might change it to the 10W7....

In addition, what is the internal volume again?

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

Hmm...price is a tad bit steeper than I had hoped for. $250 and I would send payment immediately. $300 is too rich for my blood.

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

$300 does seem a little high. The JL stealthbox will be about $500 with the woofer already installed.

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

I did not mention that $299.00 is a SHIPPED PRICE. Remember that this is a est. price. Once we nail down the material costs and labor my price will be more acurate. Also if you want the box uncovered you can save and additional 15.

Re: LATEST PICS OF COUPE BOX!

I am aware of the up coming JL box. If JL holds true to past history, they have made boxes that are vary basic. The end to look "not stock". They have a grill that is either just one of there sub grills or a carpeted metal grill. Our enclosure will feature a grill that will have a removable painted ring with a perferated metal center, much like the factory doors. We also offer the enclosure in diff covering options or not covered at all for $15.00 less. We also feel that our enclosure stronger better built unit. I will offer the enclosure without the grill for $25.00 less. Remember this is a step up from the frumpy stealthbox.
