here is the crazy thing. i must of had a small hole in my sub, around the soft part. because when i went to look at it yesterday, it tore almost all the way around the sub. now i have to go out and get a new sub. the box really hits hard. i may go out and get it today since i'm off.

 

damen, "the soft part" of the speaker is the surround. Just put some RTV around the surround or you can get a surround replacement kit cheap. The sub is still good.

well i called today and they don't have a repair kit for my rockford and best buy won't honor their extended warranty on it because they claim it's physical damage. what good is the warranty for then. so i cancelled it and bought a new speaker. i put some rtv on it tonight and will wait a day or two for it to dry. if it works out i'll take the speaker back to best buy. thanks for the info though.

 

Can anyone with this setup and a 10w6v2 tell me how the car ersponds to the bass. Is there a lot of ratteling coming ffrom the rear deack or anything else for that matter. I miss having bass but I dont miss my car sounding like it's falling apart. thanks guys!!

Yes you will have some rattle problems. All of my rattles were from the carpet panel under the rear deck. To stop the rattles I shoved some foam from Hobby Lobby between the underside of the rear deck and the carpeted panel.

well i reinstalled the sub in 4080's box and we'll see how well the RTV silcone holds up. it sounded good so far. i'll give it a nice hit tonight while i'm out.

 

I would like to know if you make one for the other side being that I have two 10" woofers and would hate to loose one. Also, are they easy to remove if need be.

I don't think 4080 does a passenger side box , but if they don't a guy on the list - - (username) Drewer - - does. Custom sized for either side.

I finally installed my "4080" box with a JL 10w6v2 running off a Hifonics BX1500D. I also put in my focal mids and highs and a Zeus 6400. I took out the 6x9's and it makes a great pass through for the sub. I can definitely wake the neighbors if I want to but it sounds super clean. Thanks again for a great product 4080!
