Am I retarded?

(rhetorical question) but i've tried searching on here, through google. and I'm so confused, after 3 days of trying to put in my deck I'm baffled, I just bought a metra 7551. Now Since I didn't know it was a replacement for the harness I got and the guy saying I don't need anything different and spending money on that. Where do the rca hooks up go, theres 4 and there all males, in the deck? Very confused help... Or if anything has a diagram how its all suppose to go, I would appreciate it.

4 colours white (left front) grey (right front) purple (left rear) green (right rear) may have confused the rears your deck has to have front and rear preouts (female rcas) on the back of the deck in order to make that work.
if you don't return that harness and buy the 7550. then do a search on here regarding the 7550 I've commented on it numerous times

One more question, theres still a plug or connector from the install that is not connected to anything, is that right? Or should all the connectors from the car have a connector for it?

ummm I don't believe it gets connected to anything if its the connector I'm thinking of. I believe it connects to the factory nav if you have it, OR it's for the steering wheel controls I can't remember off the top of my head

Universal color coding is always:
LF = white
RF = gray
LR = green
RR = violet

thanks, most of the time I don't really think about it... I just do it, and it works out correctly. Any time I think about it I screw it up
