07 G35 Sedan Factory Sirius Install Question

So I recently purchased the factory sat unit to replace my starmate that plugs into the RCA jacks and now I have 2 issues. The first is when I use the key fob to lock or unlock the doors their is no longer a horn beep and the lights do not flash. The second which is more disappointing to me is that the volume sucks! Before with the starmate the bass would shake the heck out of rearview mirror at low volume and now I turn it 3/4 of the way to full volume and it hardly moves. The unit I bought is the same as what is shown on Grubbs site. The unit itself came with 2 different instructions and I have searched this site and 6mt and see that the factory plug location can vary. I have removed all the panels in the trunk and I only see the 1 connector. It seems like simple plug and play. Why should there be any issues with the volume or alarm system? I have read about the Bose system compatibility but why should there be any problem plugging in the factory siruis unit?

what's the unit to the right? looks like it could be the keyless module. Did you happen to unplug that? and can you unplug the sirius unit and plug it back in to where the plug initially was and have everything work again?

The unit you see to the right is part of the Bose system at least thats what it says underneath. There is a port for a plug but there was no plug in it. It looked just like that when I took the panel down. I have no idea what it is or what plugs into it. Could there be more than 1 plug for the Sirius?

I did the same install 3 months ago. The end you used is on an extender cable. If you trace that cable it is connected to another cable. Disconnect the extender cable and use the end under the radio receiver. Use the double sided tape to mount the sat receiver under the regular radio receiver.

I am interested in the same modification (replacing Starmate with OEM Sirius).

Did you ever get it to work ok? If so, would you mind documenting the steps you took? Were you able to use the existing shark-fin antenna?

Thanks!!!!
