Signal processing w/BOSE
Signal processing w/BOSE
Okay, I've had a few friends integrate Cleansweeps into their factory HUs, but they always wind up with a separate **** for volume control thereafter. My question is if there are signal processors that avoid that and which way to go. For ref I'm running:
JL 500/5 via spliced RCA off factory harness. Seems to work well enough, just wondering if a proc would refine anything.
Ones I know of are JL Cleansweep, MTX RE-Q, and RF 3sixty.2

signal processors can make a night and day difference
the re-q sucks by comparison with the clean sweep and 3sixty.2
I forget how many band eq you get with those 2 but it's FULLY adjustable.
To me the sound difference would be like a person putting one of those fake BOVs on their exhaust to a person who has a turbo.

you can definitely keep the steering wheel controls. the processor goes between the bose head unit and your aftermarket amp... you can't use the bose amp in order to use a sound processor. that's just the way they're designed.
The ***** act as a remote gain and increase the signal level going to your aftermarket amp. I'd reccommend just tuning it to how you want then plug the **** in and see if you like how it responds. if you don't like it, leave it out. if you do. place it somewhere out of the way, or very convenient, normally I hide them in cup holders, blank plates on the dash or something like that.

more eq bands does not make it a better processor
the RE-q does its job and will work fine
when you go up to the cleep sweep/ 3sixty.1/.2 then you are talking about time alignment and such
if you are not a big tweaker i would go with the Re-q, if you are id do the 3sixty.2

the Re-Q is horrible all it is, is a glorified LOC. it's not a sound processor at all. Re-Q 5 yes, but only slightly better.

Everything I read lately says the Bose output is near flat and processing will be a waste. I'd love to see an RTA on the stock system and then with aftermarket components. In fact, I could do that soon before I add in the components. Unless it's been done already
Don't get the RF 3Sixty. My buddy had the 3sixty.2 and the bluetooth module crapped out on him.
Look into the Audiocontrol LC-8. I'm either goin with that or the Alpine H701, however, with the H701 you will need an Alpine deck with Ai-Net or get the C701 controller for the H701

I started looking at the 3sixty.2 seriously again. After install of the speakers, I'm fine with the signal, but I have some brutal sibilance and it needs some tweaking. Definitely needs proc help.
