Can I install a power inverter...
under the center console near the rear section? I run my computer all day long and have a power inverter running out of my center console and to the RR floor, just laying there. Kinda tacky... I want to stuff one under the console with only the plug exposed so I can plug into it. Is there room under there for one?
I wouldn't put it under the console. An inverter needs to stay cool and there's no airflow under the console. I would suggest a lighter adapter for your laptop as that's what I use and have never had any problems.
Your regular home adapter for your laptop is already converting AC to DC. Basically, the car is dishing out DC already. If your getting a power inverter, it's doing to much converting from DC to AC then back to DC again.
Good idea. I'll check into it tonight. I have had so many computer issues lately that I have 2 computers with me all the time ( ones the company unit and the other one is my own). The bad thing is that they are different models which would mean I would have to get two chargers

what I'd suggest is if you want to hide it. put it under the seat or whereever you had it. get a small extension cord, dremel a hole to fit it in your centre console, put your extension cord end in there, fasten it, and now you only have your plug in the centre console, for your laptop, microwave, george foreman whatever floats your boat
