nav for my double din??
hey all, i have a double din screen with nav and blue tooth capabilities, i have the pioneer avi-w200
and i was wondering if anyone knows what kind of nave and blue tooth system can i install in my car? i would really like to use my steering wheel buttons as well
i know that there is a product that can let me use the steering wheel controls, but does that also include aftermarket blue tooth? or does it have to be the oem voice box?
thanks
oh and i have the 06 g35 coupe 5at
they took out my entire oem audio system (which is for sale) and replaced it an aftermarket audio system

search is your friend homie!
in order to get steering wheel controls to work you need an extra add on module will cost about 100 cdn on avg - at least in ont.
Everything all built into one you're looking at the higher end Kenwoods 7120/8120 (not entirely sure about the 7120) and Pioneer F90/F900 both have their strong points.

but i dont want a new double din
my double din has add-on feature....this place that me and my bro get our sound done is called audiolines
they said i can add the nav and blue tooth, the nav that i want also has traffic control, where it tells you the flow of traffic and it can pick an alternate route to avoid heavy traffic
i want to get that but i don't know what product that is....and i know that they will be overcharging of course....so i thought i could just buy it directly from the manufacturer and then get them to install it
anyone know any nav/blue tooth brand that can do that? i don't really trust the reviews for them when i google it because most of the time its from first timers....i figure that g35driver members have had more experience with this sort of thing cause maybe they have gone through more than one

i suppose the cheapest way is to get the garmin and install it in the extra compartment where the oem nav should go, then get that module for the steering wheel controls....
but what about the blue tooth? do i reinstall my voicebox? or do i get a new blue tooth unit?

I had that same unit. It's a nice one. What you are looking for is the Alpine Blackbird 1 and the PMD-DKO1 dock. It will let you control the Blackbird's nav functions on the HU screen. You'll have to get creative on where you mount the dock though. In my old car I had it mounted in the center console but in the G there's not enough room for it there. However, the cord is long enough to run it to the trunk if you want to mount it back there. I'm currently waiting on my IVA-W505 to come in because I want to have to have less components to add on and less stuff to worry about hiding in our small cars.
As far as BT goes, I don't know if I would go with it.... You might find it's more trouble than it's worth. Almost every review I've read about the BT add on has been bad. The most common thing that the callers on the other end report really poor sound quality.
I still have my old dock and Blackbird that still has 2 years left on the traffic subscription. If your interested PM and we can try to work something out.
