Valentine1 is my favorite. It's not good for the city, too many false alarms, but it's the best on the highway.

Other good ones are Escort X50 and 9500i, and Bel RX65

Valentine1 is the most expensive but also provides many features/things that the others don't. Firstly, if at any time they make an update for it, you can send your old model in and $100 and they will send you the new one. Also, it has arrows to point which way the signal is coming from. As DieselX said it's not good for any city driving which is why I just turn it off. It's not like you'll be speeding in a downtown city area anyway.

Sometimes paying the most for something doesn't always mean you get the best product, but in this case I'm pretty confident in saying the V1 is the best.

I use a escort 8500 but you cant buy that any more so I would recommend the new version X50 or 9500i.

V1 as well...but it's expensive as hell for a reason. If you can afford to drop that kind of money for a radar detector, go for it.

V1 is $400, 9500xi is $500, 9500i is $450 and the Bel GX65 is $480...

So the V1 is not the most expensive radar out there. It's the only I trust though, can't live without those arrows! lol

I just did a custom install of the Escort 9500CI. Dash mounted radars just can't compete with custom installed units.
