My Bose Finally Pooped Out

Well my warranty is over and my Bose player finally pooped out on me. I'm kinda sad but I guess it's a good excuse to go aftermarket. I was wondering which parts do I need?

Double Din Bracket

I read somewhere that you don't need the Double Din Bracket is this true?

Also which double-din unit do you recommend? I have the stock navigation so I won't be needing it. My only demand about a player is that it has to have orange backlights to match the stock look of he car.

EDIT: Is there a 05-06 guide? I only see the 03-04 dash guide stickied. Thanks again guys.

I also have been shopping for DD units without NAV, and I like the Kenwood DDX512 the best from what I have seen in person. 1 important factor for me was having a volume ****, and a responsive touch screen. I felt the pioneer touch screen was a little inaccurate.

I have been looking on the low to mid end of the DD spectrum. Some of the higher end units are much nicer, but out of my price range.

I have an 05 g35x w/ bose and didnt need to buy a bracket. The stock bracket will do(im not sure about the coupe, but i would think it would be the same as the sedan).

I have the pioneer f90bt. Its pretty good for 600$ IMO. Has bluetooth, navi, 4.0 volt output, sd card reader infront, usb port, ipod connector, and 2year warrenty. Also you get to customize the color of the button to whatever you want. Mine is orange just like oem.

DIY for dash removal. Scroll down to the middle.

How well does that SD Card slot work for paying movies/music? That is a pretty slick feature.

I thought the pioneers actually get a 3 yr warranty.

you only need a bracket when trying to install a single din unit
