HELP! sub works speakers dont

HELP! sub works speakers dont

i recently followed the step by step instructions on adding a sub to stock bose unit. well i hooked everything up right (or so i think) but now my spkrs dont work and my sub acts like it wants to be a speaker. any clue whats wrong?

likely what's happened is that you've shorted out your connections. so that's why there's nothing coming out. double check all of your connection and make sure there isn't any wires touching one another (copper on copper)
For your sub, you've got your filter set wrong. Set it to low pass. (usually a slide switch on the amp) and turn your cross over to ~80 hz that should fix that problem

ok thanks troy for the reply. i got my spkrs to work but my sub still acts like a spkr. my amp is a rockford fosgate 3001 and it doesnt have a lowpass switch, anything else you could think of?

Buy a crossover like some of these here or a simple coil to stop the highs. The model of the crossover and the size of the coil depends of the watts and ohms of the driver.

is there something that says LP/HP/FP on the amp? if so flip it to LP
what's the model of that amp? because I'm pretty sure all rockfords have those settings.

no theres no lp/hp/fp that i see. its a rockford fosgate 300:1 or a 300:2 ill double check but its about 2-3yrs old
