Factory Navigation w/ Aftermarket Head Unit

Hey everyone!

I am new to this site so this question may have already been answered; I am just unable to find it. I have an '03 G35 coupe with factory navigation. I wanted more functionality so I had an aftermarket head unit (AVIC D-3) installed. The problem is that the dash kit was for a G35 without the navigation and thus left a hole in my top bezel panel and my factory navigation pulled out. I have seen pictures of both the factory navigation and the aftermarket head unit installed and working at the same time.

Does anyone know the magic on how to make that happen? I would greatly appreciate it!

ya it's not hard... just leave the factory nav in there and hooked up. and it works other than the voice, which was annoying as hell as it was

Ok. That is what I figured from the pictures and such. So since they removed it on the install, should I just have someone reinstall the navi back into my vehicle? It sounds like that should not be a tall order...

Thanks for the info.

Yeah. It was completely removed from my vehicle. There is essentially a hole where all of that was. The DVD drive is still located above the glove box but everything is out. When it was given back to me it had the stock radio and the navi all as one piece.
