Better place to tap remote turn-on wire?

Is there a better wire to tap than the factory amp turn on wire or power antenna wire (both green with white stripe on an 04X) ? The reason I ask is because both of these wires are switched with the ignition, not switched with the radio. So if I have my radio off with the car on, the amps are still on. This the bose system, all wires tapped right at the bose amp.

you can try the power antenna wire. Although in most cars once you turn off the radio you don't have power down that wire anymore. It's in the main stereo wiring harness. I've seen the wiring posted in here a couple times.

I was thinking about that, but isn't there a closer-to-the-rear place to tap it? I know the antenna amp is on the driver's side next to the back window, but I don't really want to take off all the seats again just to tap another wire. If you can get to it right at the driver's side rear door, that would be awesome. Anyone know?

Random rant: Why does Inifinti have an amp turn-on wire that is switched with the car, not the radio???

it's just easier for them to wire it like that. you could likely trace the wire back but at that point you may just want to run a wire from the deck

Well, I tried this last night. I tapped the wire right at the antenna amp, not the back of the deck (shouldn't matter, its the same wire). This worked worse than the factory amp turn on wire. It worked mostly the same as the factory turn on wire, except the amps stayed on for about 30 seconds even after the car was turned off! Even though the factory service manual says it operates with the radio switch, it does not. So, I guess now I'm back to using the factory turn-on lead. What a waste of 2 hours...
