The buttons on my center console randomly become disabled. The AC turns on all the way up and I'm unable to shut it off and the controls for audio, temp, airflow are all disabled. The sound and steering wheel controls still work.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks

 

No way to fix this -- common problem on G's .. what year is your vehicle, I know this is your first post but you SURELY know there are many models of G's, various options, etc -- details details details details......happy to help.

The fix, I'm going to anticipate you have a 2003-2004 or a 2005-2006 G35 (x or not) with or without bose... the Circuit board that controls the A/C unit will fry over time, and you can a) take it to Infiniti and get killed on the cost of replacement, OR b) you can look in the black market here and buy someone's old control unit (they probably just installed an aftermarket stereo) MUCH cheaper and install it yourself -- very simple.

when you say a new circuit board is needed, is that the part with the faceplate?

 

Quoted $325 exchange plus 1.5 hrs labour plus taxes from my dealer. US guys will likely get it cheaper, maybe $500 all-in. (if you can call that cheap)

 

Does anyone know whether an 06 coupe Bose HU will fit in my 03 sedan? I'm thinking not, but I'd like to know for sure one way or the other. I've e-mailed the dealer, we'll also see what he says.

 

^ No, the 06 won't fit your 03. The radio and face are completely different, as are the trim pieces.

I am a bit confused about this also, is the fix to buy a new radio, or is the circuit board seperate,

 

i think that if you buy another stock stereo its a waste of money because eventually it will burn again... i recomend you to buy and aftermarket double or single din kit. and an after market stereo.. it will be cheaper on the long run.. thats just what i think because same thing happened to me.

What color is the trim plate? I assume it is either a JDM or Metra kit? Is it a single din or DD? Where are you located?
