Want to verify rumor about BOSE.
Want to verify rumor about BOSE.
I heard it's hard to replace a bose system. Is this true? If so, what's the trick to replacing it with say an Infinity Kappa system? And is it hard to install the navigation system yourself if bought elsewhere (still a factory nav system though)?
Re: Want to verify rumor about BOSE.
If you replace the BOSE amp and all the speakers, its not that hard. Theres at least a million posts on here about doing this.
Installing a stock NAV system would be quite hard and cost about 6 grand. If you have to have the stock NAV, it would probably be cheaper to trade in your car and get one with the NAV already. There are also a ton of posts on here about people wanting to do this.
I am in the process of producing a screen housing that will let you put a NAV system in for a much more reasonable price and look stock. PM me for details.

Installing an aftermarket NAV system is quite easy and only costs ~$2400 ($400 for the doubledin "kit" and $2k for the nav). This has also been covered many times and there's a very nice step-by-step DIY posted here you should search for.
