The product info on www.g35parts.com states that all cars from 2004 on were pre-wired. There is a pdf with instructions for the install. Maybe the wiring harness was in a different spot in 2006? For some reason the unit costs $22.50 extra for '06 so that makes me think it is different.

Just a FYI for all 2003 sedan owners:

A way to tell if your '03 sedan is pre-wired for satellite radio is looking at the last 6 digits of your VIN. If the last 6 numbers of the VIN are 321894 or higher, your car is pre-wired for SAT radio. Otherwise it's not pre-wired.

As someone mentioned in the other post, all '04-'06 sedans are pre-wired for SAT radio.

I think it may be in a different spot as well

That is what I ordered. It states the Sat cable hookup is in the trunk on the bottom right side under the interior panel. Except it's not in that location on my '06.

However, in all my searching i could not find someone with an '06 who did the install. I found all 03-05 owners who found their cable right where it should be.

It leads me to beleive that '06 might be different, but the question is where is the sat cable??

I culd pull the head unit out and mount it there, but i don't want to do that yet until i'm sure there isn't a cable dangling around in the interior somewhere.

And if '06 is a unique install, then someone should prob tell EverythingG35 about it since I read the install instructions before buying it....and yet they don't apply to my car.

I'm not saying the '06 is not pre-wired...but I can't find the cable in my car at all. No clue where it is.

EDIT!

I found it!!

In 2006, the SAT harness is on the upper deck on the right side and not at the lower right of the trunk like the 2003-2005 models!

I found it on infinitihelp.com by looking up Sat radio install for a 2006 Sedan.

If this thread was never made I'd prob still be looking for it!

Lol i just installed it too. I ran the Ipod cable out from under the rear seat for the time being. Tomorrow i'll snake it under the carper to the center console. But it's nice to have an Ipod hookup now!

Unfortunatelly i don't know how to use the controls yet, so i gotta find that thread where the poster shows how to use it.

What is upper right deck?

I'm assuming hanging from the rear deck where the subwoofer is on the inside of the trunk?

Yes correct. Basically the tray that the 3rd brake light is mounted on top of. I found it tucked and taped up in the far right corner.

I have been looking into an ipod adapter but figured I did not have SAT avail connection because I dont have the button.

I can buy an IPod adapter and splice it into this sat radio plug in my trunk.
any suggestions?

05-06's don't have a SAT button. You hit the MODE button to cycle through AM, FM1, FM2, CD, SAT, etc.

The SAT cable is in the trunk, so if you get the OEM kit, you are good to go

Where did you mount the satellite receiver? The wiring harness on my 07 Sedan is also on the upper deck, but on the left (driver's) side. I can't find a suitable spot to mount it as the Bose amps and speakers take up most of the space. Also, my kit from Grubbs didn't include a mounting bracket. Should it have?

I mounted mine under the rear seat. There was a pocket in the cushion just the right size for it.

But i installed an IPOD module which is tiny. SO it fit easily in a pocket on the bottom cushion
