Depending on what you want to use it for, noise dampening or noise barrier?
In order to noise dampen you kinda need the extra mass to absorb the accoustic energy. I've personally like Dynamat Extreme due to the low thickness.
If you want to use noise barrier something like B-Quite V-Comp or L-Comp will do. I can't hear anything from the rear after they were installed.

what is the lightest stuff? i wanted to use dynamat, but its so damn heavy, but without some of it, i cant hear jack with my exhaust and all that wind noise on the freeway. what do you guys suggest? weight is the most important factor for me.
