Alpine,Kenwood,Pioneer or something else

Still deciding between a nice inexpensive headunit.Which do you think is right?I was looking at the Alpine iva-w505,Kenwood DNX5120, and Pioneer AVH-P4100.I'm looking for a double din unit btw.Thank you for assistance.

You might want to be more clear on what youre looking for. For example, navigation, bluetooth, etc. I was considering the Alpine Iva-w505 but I read lots of poor reviews when used with the blackbird navigation.

Kenwood is a solid unit with a not user friendly GUI -- and the 5120 you can ADD navigation to later if you're interested

the Pio unit is non-navi, but i haven't heard about that one in particular (4100) but the Avic's were a big failure and now have a major update that may address many of the problems

The alpine's are kinda subtly just there.. no one says one thing good or bad about them, but I agree, they definitely don't stand out as the best unit.

I would go Kenwood -- i have a Kenwood 8120 in my G and love it

I'm not into bluetooth.I wouldn't mind navigation since I no longer have an iPhone.I like an easy-to-use touchscreen and easy to install.

Alpine does look nice, but many people say the navi is not very efficient.

I'm making the same choice but i got a lot more to worry about than just Navi or no Navi. I think you need atleast three pre-outs, two to drive your bose system and one if your gonna run some subs. This is all if you have the bose system. And they need to be 4 volt pre outs or you run the risk of low sound output and static. I may still experience static anyway for other reasons including an unbalanced signal your reciever produces and the balanced signal a bose system works off of. Now, if you cut your amps out, lose use of your fifth sub mid speaker and run wires to your four remaining interior speakers, you won't have to worry about any of this. You may eventually need new speakers though. I'm probably going to get infiniti kappa interior speakers eventually as well anyway. They are at two ohm and match your interior speaker set up most. To make a long story short, trying to redo a Bose system seems really tricky. It seems as though the pioneer P4100 will probably sound the best, it has three 4 volt pre outs. I did a search on the unit on youtube, to my surprise, half the cars were Z's and G's with bose systems. Be careful if your keeping your bose amps. It may end up sounding like crap.

If iPod connection is important, the Pioneer units have the best interface.
