Speaker/Amp change

I want to add a sub to my car but I know from my last car that once you add a sub, the highs will seem to be lacking. To get over that I added some extra tweeters, but on the G that's not really an easy option. Basically I was wondering if anyone has changed either just the speakers (only the tweeters or both tweeters and mids) or just the amp and if it seemed to add more in the highs. I'd like to end up changing all of it sooner or later, but don't want to put that much money into it right now since i did just blow a huge chunk of change to get it.

Any info would be great. And I gotta say I love the DIY's cause some are explained so well with photos that I'm definitely considering doing all the work myself, much more rewarding that way.

The bose gets pretty loud, just add a sub and turn down the bass on the door speakers. You will be able to turn them up louder without distortion. I am getting ready to add a Phoenix Gold amp and Kicker solo-baric 10. my friend is an installer, neither one of us bose fans, but the one in the G sounds pretty darn good and we think it will be able to keep up. Once I get it installed I will take pics and let you know how it sounds.

Re: Speaker/Amp change

yeah, i decided to keep the bose. Was thinking of adding a new amp and components, but I think it would be overkill, since the bose should sound decent. I'm actually in the middle of making a fiberglass enclosure myself for a 12" ported sub. Man is it some work, but man will it be sweet. Takin pictures and whatnot to do a DIY or something when it's all done.

Re: Speaker/Amp change

I have 2 10" subs powered by a 500/1 and a 300/2 powering my stock front components. I changed out my crossover capacitor and have an AudioControl EQL in line. I'm quite satisfied with my setup. There is no distorion in the stock components or anything,
