you need to get a certain harness to connect the amp to the Headunit. IDK what the clip is.

Generally what I've done is go to Walmart and they have a Scosche kit overthere. See if they have one for the G35, if so then buy it, should be about 7-10 bucks. Otherwise you'll have to go to Best Buy or some audio store where they have the wiring harness for the 35. There should only be one and it's not head unit specific. The harness will work with any head unit you purchase.

^^^

No prob, and yep, that would be it. You might be looking at $30 or so going to best buy, that's why I recommended Wal Mart. I don't know if they have any for the G, but they did have it for my previous vehicles.

I just got off the phone with bestbuy

lol donpisto your pricing was on point
but the dude told me i probably also need a RCA input
for the bose amp or something.

i asked them how much they would charge to install my
JDM DD kit and headunit and he said $200

is that a good price>?

I'd say $200 is a bit expensive. I honestly wouldn't go to best buy either, some of those guys are tools, but some do know what they're. Plus when it comes to certain things, like amplifier install, they can't do it the proper way. You have to scrape down the paint on the chassis to bare metal to get a good connection for the ground, and they're simply not allowed to do that. As for head units, I can't really think of anything they can do to screw it up unless they don't know what they're doing.

I'm sure you can find an audio shop, a reputable one that would do it for half the cost. I haven't worked on the G so I'm not quite to familiar with the RCA input that is required for an amp. I know there is a tutorial here somewhere and you can follow that, but generally, hooking up a head unit is not all that difficult when it comes to using the wiring harness.

I actually just googled the wiring harness for the G and I came up with ones that look different, and it seems that the guy at Best Buy is correct about the RCA's...I believe this is the one you would need.

See if you can work with them. Tell them you can get the harness for $20 and a shop to install it for $100 and see if they're willing to match the install cost, otherwise, I'd search around for audio shops and see what they will charge to install the DD kit w/HU.

Hey, I have an Avic Z110Bt coming in the mail, wondering if your head unit fits into the JDM DD perfectly or whether you need to add another Metra piece to fill in gaps.

4 hours? Wow, it takes that long to install a head unit, speakers, amps, and run wires....I wouldn't trust that best buy at all. I would have asked them if they have 12 year old doing the install, because it shouldn't take more than an hour or even an hour and a half MAX.
