thanks for your quick responses.
so your saying just take out the rear deck speakers and just
replace the front door speakers,tweeters and the speakers in the rear
passengers side seats?

hella, i finally got my dash trim today and i was seeing how everything fit together and i found that the surround piece that came with the head didnt fit inside the infiniti trim. did you have this issue? i was trying to squint at your pic and was having trouble seeing how it looked

did you get the JDM Double Din Kit or the Metra DD kit?
i dont think your suppose to use the oem bracket. i believe if
your putting an aftermarket headunit you have to purchase
the bracket to fit it in.

jdm, its not the bracket. its like a rectangle that goes around the face to fill the gap between the trim. i left the stuff in my office, ill take a some pics to show what i mean

If you car came w/o navigation you can reuse the bracket with the aftermarket unit.

If your aftermarket head unit faceplate fit flush to the DD you wont be able to use the trim.

Unfortunately you will not be able use that plate. if you really want the plate the only suggestion may be to measure out the opening and measure out the face of the plate and sand it down and than paint it. Just a suggestion. That DD is oddly wider than a normal DD.

i got my pioneer from someone parting out their z. i think that surround piece may have been for his car. i think theres enough room on it to sand it down

The stock bracket simply fit, you don't need to open any holes that I'm aware of. For the gap, I'm not sure if you'll like it or not, you can use a rubberize automotive weather strip and stick it to the HU on the side facing the gap (on the inside of the DD of course). From the outside you’ll only see something black there but not an open gap. The other option would be to custom prepare the DD kit with bondo and repaint it.
