did you get the JDM Double Din Kit or the Metra DD kit?
i dont think your suppose to use the oem bracket. i believe if
your putting an aftermarket headunit you have to purchase
the bracket to fit it in.

jdm, its not the bracket. its like a rectangle that goes around the face to fill the gap between the trim. i left the stuff in my office, ill take a some pics to show what i mean

If your aftermarket head unit faceplate fit flush to the DD you wont be able to use the trim.
Unfortunately you will not be able use that plate. if you really want the plate the only suggestion may be to measure out the opening and measure out the face of the plate and sand it down and than paint it. Just a suggestion. That DD is oddly wider than a normal DD.
The stock bracket simply fit, you don't need to open any holes that I'm aware of. For the gap, I'm not sure if you'll like it or not, you can use a rubberize automotive weather strip and stick it to the HU on the side facing the gap (on the inside of the DD of course). From the outside you’ll only see something black there but not an open gap. The other option would be to custom prepare the DD kit with bondo and repaint it.
