Yeah, in theory. but with engine + K&N drop in, Z tube, wind and road noise?? not much. I installed it because I had my radio fixed (the notorious 2003 circuit board), might as well put one in when radio is off the car anyway.

I think the sound is much clearer than tape.

Do you get the hissing sound from the speakers which I described (even with the stereo turned off)?

idk my radio sounds fine and i dont get a hiss when its off

I don't have hissing sound either. the repair shop told me my radio is not grounded through harness, rather through mounting brackets and screws, so if radio is off dash, it's not grounded. I wired a ground from radio to dash before I put it back in just for sake of it. not sure if that makes any difference.

Engine + KN + Z-tube, have them, you won't care how your ipod sounds in your car.

Yup, I was thinking that too. Called up USA Spec and they told me the same thing - remount the dash (something's not grounded).

Nope, that did not help. Still get the hissing sound. Not acceptable. Going to return this unit and get the PAC instead. Sucks because that one will not charge the phone and steering/radio controls won't work. I read that those simple RCA ones don't get hiss.

Question

I'll be installing my PA15 this weekend if it shows up in time...I'm inferring an implied task of creating my own grounding cable from HU to bracket somewhere just to be sure it's grounded and to eliminate the possibility of having to rip the damn dash apart a second time?

I hope it comes with dipswitch setting instructions...I don't feel like hashing out 32 different options...

I too shall be installing the PA15 within the next week and see if there's a hiss issue.

Just finished installing mine. Took about 3 hours lol. Took an hour break to watch the real world tho..lol. Dont notice a hiss on my end. Everything seems to be working fine.

For the people who have already done the install...where did you guys put the adapter thing? its pretty bulky and the wires are pretty thick. I had to pull the radio in and out several times in order to make it fit, and im still not completely comfortable with the way it is now. Im kind of afraid that it will overheat or something, does anyone know what the chance of that happening is?

I am also concerned with all that wire fitting and sitting behind the radio. I plan on mounting my iphone just to the left of the CD eject button so the glove box isnt really an option.
