Hooked up the DVD to Nav today

Yep hooked up the Innovatek DVD/Tunner from
http://www.mp3playerstore.com/stuff_...d/dvd/FD-5.htm
I also did the Pac audio unit for sound. For Nav conversion I used a unit from
http://public.fotki.com/vsokolov/
I think I was the first from the site to use the new unit. It was really easy to install and was MUCH cheaper then the AV unit. For everything Im into the system for 470.00, Not bad! I took some pics of the conversion kit. I think Im the first one to use it so I thought a how to might be of some intrest to you guys.

Re: Hooked up the DVD to Nav today

very sweet! I have that same dvd/tuner and it works good for me most of the time. Sometimes it poops out and has a hard time playing burned discs like cd-r's and dvd-r's
On a positive note though it has dvd movie memory (for when shutting off the vehicle but not losing your spot in the movie) and has a really nice TV-Tuner.

Thanks for the pictures, nice install, looks very professional

Nice install! looks clean to me. I offer the AV unit for pretty much what you got your system for... The differences are pretty much that the AV unit doesn't require cutting of wires. Plug and play with just one wire to cut.

Regardless, Good job!

How many video out and video in connections does that unit have? Also how do you switch from Nav to a movie?

Your installation looks great.

Re: Hooked up the DVD to Nav today

Thanks guys! Im not really happy with the look of the DVD player in the dash. Ive ordered a new one so I can fiberglass this one and get rid of that ugly trim ring. But for now it will do. Im having a hard time getting reception on this thing! Is yours like that also? The nav conversion has only one out but the dvd player has a extra, so I have two. As for switching back and forth I have a toggle in the glove box that the unit came with. Im really really happy with this setup! Well worth the money!
