"Acquiring" sat message
"Acquiring" sat message
Wondering if anyone else has had this problem...
I have a sirius receiver and stock HU. About a week ago my sat stopped working and now it just displays the "Acquiring" on the stereo. I got the receiver out and all looks fine. If I unplug the antenna the message on the stereo says "antenna" which leads me to believe it is getting signal, but I have a hunch it could still be the antenna.
With my patience and time running short, I might have to take this to my audio guy to take a look as nothing seems obviously out of place.
Any audio guru's out there have suggestions I could try before taking it in?
Cheers,
Jason

if you can find a sat antenna with the same end buy it and try it. acquiring usually means that it's having issues receiving, if you're around tall buildings, bridges or trees you'll get the same thing. if there is a pinch in the cord somewhere you'll get the same thing.
Still no luck
HI guys, still no luck with my sirius radio. I tried a different antenna and still nothing. Just to recap, when I have the antenna plugged into the sirius amp, the message "acquiring" comes up, when I unplug the antenna, "antenna" message appears.
Very frustrating! Anyone have any suggestions? I really dont want one of those units that sticks to the windshield...

It cant be where the antenna is because I didnt move it and it just stopped working. When I tried the new antenna I tried different places, still no luck.

I know this post is old, but I just got Sirius installed, it was working fine, then the next day, "ACQUIRING." A different Antenna was used, and same message was displayed. The shop told me that the receiver was the cause of the problem, not the antenna.
What was the resolution?
