4080 box installed
Got my 4080 subwoofer box installed. The box itself is well designed. The thing that sold me was how easily you can install/remove it, how nicely it fits on the side, support for the cargo net and works with the trunk mat in place. I ordered it with the grill and carpet. There were some minor carpeting fitment issues, but it was all on the back side which wasn't visible, so no big deal.
I did the install myself which took longer than expected due to hiding all the wires. I used a Kicker Solobaric S10c that I had in an old box I used in my Pathfinder (the box wouldn't fit in the G35c) and my old MTX 280 amp. Thanks to all the articles on this board, I went through the firewall by poking a small hole in the grommet that's behind the battery and drops directly into the passenger side. Ran the power wire under the passenger carpet, under the rear seat into the trunk. Ran the speaker wires under the driver seat to the trunk. I installed the amp on top of the Bose amp in the trunk. Two of the holes for the amp fit perfectly on top of the Bose metal bracket. Tapped into the blue/silver wire of the Bose amp for the remote and grounded it to the Bose amp metal enclosure. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures during the install. Here's a pic of the finished product.
