I heard some Focal 165V2 component speakers at a local hi-fi shop and fell in love with their sound. I'd like to put them in my coupe but don't know if they'll clear the window in the doors.

Does anyone have these installed in their coupe? If not, is there a similar sounding Focal that they've had luck getting to fit?

I know that a few of the member have the Focal 165W Utopias installed in their coupes. I just ordered mine and will get it installed early next week. I heard it's kind of a tight squeeze to get it installed, but it is possible. I'm not certain about the 165V2, though.

 

I put Focal PolyKevs in the doors. No fit problems.

You shouldn't have a problem installing them in your coupe, G35mt put the TN51 (huge tweeter) which is part of the 165 utopia set with no problems.

I got the Utopias on Ebay, about $588 with shipping. It's not cheap, but it's still a lot less than the retail price of $1100 that Car Toys wanted to charge me.

 

I don't think you will have any problem with the installation. I had the utopia 165w in my coupe. The only problem i encounter was the tweeter. But with little tweaking, the installer were able to put it in. Hope that help.

i just got my 165k polykevlars for 180 bucks. ive heard the 130K's in my friend's car and they sound awesome....freaking kick asssss. utopia's are just waay to much for me. cant even tell the difference with my rock music blown ears anyways. hes selling his 130k's if ur interested. they are only 5 1/4 though, but with the old tweeter style that sounds better.
