Ok..being that my system effed up..I am now upgrading a few items.

So far I have

front: Infiniti Perfect 6.1 comps
rear: Infiniti Kappa 63.5i
trunk: dynamatted along with 4080 stealthbox and a 10" Polk/Momo MM104 sub from my previous setup. I may have to get a new sub. Perhaps the JL 10w6

I need amps.

So far I have picked

Soundstream Tarantula TR 800/5 or

Soundstream Tarantula TR 500/4 plus another amp for my sub in the 300 - 400 dollar range.

I just picked them because I think they look really sinister. Which is better? or any other suggestions between $500 and $800 on amps?

Pls recommend something.

I have an older soundstream and I am disappointed with it. All the hype about how durable they are is not true. The speaker short circuit protection is not good on my model. A friend borrowed the car and somehow got a speaker wire caught in the seat track.. zap to the front 2 channels... the backs were damaged and would cut out here and there for about 4 years lol it finally died on me the other day.

The fuse didn't blow, I suspect the fuse is "slow blow" (not intended fo short circuit protection).

The sound was ok. Nothing special. The highs are kinda harsh at high volumes.
