Wait for the P4200DVD coming out on March 1st. I'm doing a conversion except I have a fried finisher circuit board. This means my heat is locked at 75 and not functioning correctly in the middle of winter. So I want to wait for the new unit but I need to fix my heater now! Funny thing is, the stereo works without the finisher. You lose the function of the buttons up front but you can just replace the AC controller now and get your heater back and pop in a double din down the road. Excellent! I am here to report that a JDM AC controller fits right into an american bose system kit. And the stereo will work the same it did before you took out your blown finisher. Now i just need to wait a month for pioneer's new units.

So, I'm doing the exact same project as docsg35 and I got the jdm DD converter ordered and was about to order the pioneer 4100 when I came across this thread... I figured bose would find a way to mess my life up but this sucks. If I can't afford to replace the bose speakers and amp is there anything I can do to at least retain the factory clarity?

Anyone know where the reverse light wire is upfront so i don't have to feed a wire all the way to the back for a back up camera?

The p4100 pioneer with thier high output pre-outs are widely used with our bose systems with promising results. I'm going to take use the new p4200 coming in march and i'll tell you how it sounds. You have options, i'm keepin my bose too for now. There's something i read about on here that balances the signal for your bose system. Balance transmitters or something like that.
