DD Conversion (Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD)
I decided to convert from the OEM Bose to a double din.
Here's what I ordered:
1) Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD = $409
2) Pioneer CD-BTB200 (Bluetooth adapter) = $123
3) JDM Double Din dash kit (w/ dual climate control) = $315
4) PAC Harness = $50
5) Install should not be more than $70 and 1-2 hours
What do you all think?

I was told by my installer that I don't need an antenna adapter?!? I read him the list word for word and asked if I need anything else and he said no. If so, can you clarify? How much, where, etc.?

Just installed AVH-P6000DVD few weeks ago and you need an antenna adapter. I got it for free together with harness when I bought my radio on crutchfield.. You may want to get a steering wheel control as well..

You'll probably want to bypass your factory amp or replace it. I just installed my AVIC Z110bt and I was puzzled as to why it sounded like crap. After some research, nobody is surprised it sounds like crap because I kept the Bose amp and speakers. The Bose headunit sends a balanced signal to the amp and the aftermarket units send unbalanced. Combine that with your factory 2ohm Bose speakers and it sounds like garbage. You might want to have your installer use the speaker level outputs from the headunit and bypass the amp, or replace the amp, and probably the speakers too. Whatever you choose, good luck!

yes but you have to buy a PAC SWI, it translates the signal to what your head unit can understand.
Here is a link to one. I got one for 40$ off of buy.com

I do have one question regarding bluetooth though (for anyone that can answer). I have the Pioneer AVIC-F700BT that has an excellent Bluetooth phone system.
Is it possible to retain the steering wheel control for the Pioneer bluetooth phone in the same way as the OEM bluetooth?
