DD & Nav Question (sorry)

I've searched throughout the forums and couldn't find anything that relates specifically to what I want. If I could get some help, I would appreciate it.

I've recently purchased a JVC AVX820 DD HU to put in my 05 coupe with Nav. My goal is to use the Nav screen to mirror the HU's display, so when I play DVD's, the HU and the Nav screen will both be playing them. Is this possible? If so- How? I've asked the tvnav2go guy about his harness and he said that would not be possible. Is there such a harness or converter out there? Thanks for your help.

Why would you want to do this? Wouldn't it be easier if you were to just get the Double Din plate and just use one...

I have the DD plate, and I will be using my HU. But I like having things that are different. I think mirroring the HU with the nav screen would be cool, especially for the playing of dvd's/playing games when I want to. It would be a another option instead of getting headrest monitors for the passengers... who knows.

I'd still like to know though if it could be done. Anyone?

Does the stock nav have a video in? That might be a better question for you to look at and perhaps easier to find the answer to. If so, you could simply split the video out to the nav unit. Theoretically it's possible.

I wonder why he would tell you that it wouldnt work, as long as your HU has a video output it should work just fine, he quoted me a fairly good price for the plugnplay harness back in June and it has 2 video inputs.

I've checked car domain and I can't find any specific examples of mirroring the HU display. Sure they have DVD players they use in the glovebox, ps2's, etc... but none really with the head unit. I'm almost considering buying the TvNav2Go anyway and seeing if it will work... if it doesn't I can still invest in a dvd player or something.

Does anyone have any specific examples by chance?

I'm checking to see if the Stock Nav has a VI now.

I have the avx810 and it has a video out for additional monitors, all you have to do is install the plug and play harness from tvandnav2go , connect the video output from you radio to the video input on the new installed harness, flip the switch and your good.....

Thank you very much. This is all I wanted to know, I don't know why the person at tvNav2go said it wouldn't work... Didn't make much sense.
