Re: hardwiring a radar detector

I was looking to hardwire my recently added nav. Was told I could tap into the lighter wires or at the fuse area. Any pointers on going about this?

Thanks

Re: hardwiring a radar detector

I tapped into the cig lighter on driver's side. Just ran the wires from the rear mirrior under the two plastic pieces that cover the homelink wiring to the headliner over to the A pillar (snaps off) down a hole that goes under the dash over to the cig lighter. Used a wire tap to hook in there and grounded on a nearby bolt. Works great.
