Pioneer AVH-3100DVD too small?

I'm really into that Pioneer AVH-3100DVD double din but I notice that everyone is getting larger double dins. That double din is only 5.8 touch screen, maybe i should get a bigger one so the double din trim piece doesn't cover that all that extra space when it is installed.

The extra size on the screen doesn't increase the dimensions of the unit.
The 4100 is all screen with no buttons on the lefthand side like the 3100 has.

The gap will be the same.

The 4100 has the subwoofer preamp out, which is always a nice thing to have.
