Yes, but that's still time for install spent and some loss of money. Do things right first time

High-quality aftermarket head unit with JDM double din kit, routing the RCAs to the rear for future expansion possibilities.

Aftermarket units support iPods/iPhone Soooooooooooooooooo much better than the stock does even with an iPod adapter.

I agree but doing a full system was not an option for me. That is some big $$. I just want my CD player to work like it did and I will be happy.

I'm still p!ssed off about the sloppy install. I have to go back today because it is driving me nuts! They mounted the amp really crooked, the paneling around the radio was not put back on correctly and the brake hold feature on my hand control doesn't work unless the car is cold. Oh yea, the bass control **** also doesn't do anything. D@MN IT! Seriously? This guy has been installing for "15 years."

I don't know how any professional installer can screw up the install in these cars. I am by no means a professional, but I follow instructions and am careful at when I do an install. I guess it comes down to people who do it for a hobby that pays, or people who do it who need to get paid not taking the time.

In my years, I've done maybe eight head unit installs, a few prefab boxes and amps, and a half-dozen speaker replacements. The only time you really need to be paying for an install is when custom work is involved, the rest should only be avoided by total klutzes.

perhaps that's an ideal situation, but I think it's a little excessive to throw out a perfectly working head unit (and a navi unit -for those of us who have them) not to mention a 10 times plus increase in cost just to listen to an ipod. But I'll let you know when my head unit goes out, until then I'll enjoy my $115 ipod adapter that took no longer than 30 minutes to install.

You're right, it's not worth throwing out a perfectly working headunit, I just was content with CDs full of MP3s until my head unit started going out. Even then I put it off, as I knew I'd be deploying for a year, and could get a model-year newer head unit for the same price when I get back.
