You need only one thing:
To change your plan.
It's more expensive than a aftermarket unit, and the only advantage it has is popping out of the dash.
(Edit - just noticed you already have Bose)
Here's some more reasons to not do it:
You'll still have a Bose head unit (known to have a high failure rate).
You'll still have a Bose amp (also known to have a high failure rate).
You'll need the factory nav unit. You *might* find one in the markeplace.
You'll need the factory nav antenna. Since it's a pain to remove compared to other parts, most people leave it in when they upgrade their nav, so you'll probably have to pay somebody to take their dash apart to get it out.
More reasons below!
Legally updating your maps is more expensive than a new Garmin!
Your maps are on a DVD, which is considerably slower than ones on a hard drive or SD card!
But wait! There's more!
You'll still have the inferior Bose audio system.
You still won't have iPod interface.
For all that effort and cost, you could easily have installed either the Pioneer AVIC Z110BT or Kenwood DNX9140, both flagship units with voice control, navigation, iPod integration, satellite radio compatibility, superior sound quality.....
I'd continue to give you reasons why to not do it, but if you still want to after all that, you deserve to go ahead with it.

Yes you can, but you need an adapter. Which adapter depends on which headunit you get.
SWI-PS for pioneer/sony.
Riverside Infiniti sells the JDM dash kit, there's a metra one that's less, but buying that is like somebody paying you $100 to smear ugly all over your interior. You can find a used JDM quite often in the marketplace for about $300 or less, and really, it's not like a part that gets worn out like buying used tires, so it's a great option.
Between the PAC SWI-???? wiring harness and the JDM kit, you'll be in about $400 or less.
