03 G35 Sedan, Metra 70-7551 harness, no sound from rear door speakers
All,
Has any one had this issue? I have just installed a new Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD double din and used the Metra 70-7551 harness. This is the harness with the RCA pigtails for use with the RCA 4V outputs on the rear of the headunit.
My question is this: I have perfect sound from the front door speakers and the subwoofer is enabled (actually can be controlled by on-screen menu). However the rear door speakers have zero sound. Is there a separate amp for the rear speakers? Additional wiring that needs to be done? As the driver, I can't tell too much that the rears aren't working, but it's more of an annoyance that I paid for 4 channels and don't have it.
I have connected the pigtails correctly according to the Metra instructions. White/Gray to fronts, Green/Violets to rears. The rear RCA outputs on the headunit are labeled FR, FL, SWR, SWL where the SubWooferRight or Left can be also used as rear speaker line outs. My blue/white remote is connected to the amp power and of course the associated ground is also connected. All my connections are soldered and heat-shrink wrapped.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Al

Check the initial settings for rear output (page 51 of the owner's manual):

Verify that your rears are set as full-range speakers, not subwoofers. Also make sure the fader's not set all forward as well.

Damn I'm good.
Of course the only reason I know it is because I spent about an hour trying to narrow it down before looking up the manual myself once.
