Non-Bose Front Speaker Upgrade

would you guys recommend these speakers? and how hard would it be to install them? would it be a direct drop in?

Use their "Outfit my car" tool to find something that'll go in easier.

Its not too difficult to install the speakers. You will need a spacer / adapter. The "vehicle specific" adapter plate from crutchfield is not very good. You can either buy a set from a speaker enclosure site (about $20.00), or you can make your factory speaker into an adapter with a dremmel tool and a drill. My Non Bose factory speakers got fuzzy, and I replaced them (not for upgrade purposes). Initially I modified my factory speaker into an adapter spacer. Then I switched to MDF spacers, and it didn't sound any different. The nice thing about using the factory speaker as an adapter / spacer is that you can solder a wire between the new speaker leads, and the factory plug so when you are finished you just plug it in without cutting the harness in the car. I'm not sure how well the modified speaker spacer will work if you upgrade the system and increase the power to the speakers.
