Factory Bose Problems

Well my radio and climate control unit all of a sudden stopped working the other day. I took off the dash and pulled out the radio. It came back and started working again so I proceeded to put everything back together. Once I got everything back, it stopped working again. I do know that the previous owner installed or had someone install a viper alarm. I was thinking it was the wires loose and jiggled them a bit and nothing. Now my climate is working but I cannot control it.

Any ideas??

The factory/bose audio isn't known for a very long life, but if it's something loose, maybe take apart and recheck the connections.

If that fails, it's a good excuse to upgrade to double-din.

well than I guess my next question is this;

If the Bose radio goes out, do the controls for the climate also stop working? I have all the lights, and it is blowing, I just cannot control any of it.

Yep, they use the same circuit board and power supply.

Ok so now I'm a bit confused. A nice wiring diagram would be perfect.

I know they are on the same circuit board because I actually took that off and added a button to the dual climate control area before. But the radio has 3 harnesses plugged into it and the climate controls have a separate on plugged into it. So what are the point of the separate plugs if the radio controls the climate unit?

I'm trying to just get a better understanding of it all so I can decide on what to do to fix the problem. (Double-Din, replacement B.o.s.e. (Buy.Other.Stuff.Eventually) system.)

PS: I can hear the CD spinning and such when I plug in the CD player....

Well I have decided to go double-din, and get a Clarion head unit. I'm normally not a fan of Clarion (especially now since they make the factory b.o.s.e. junk in the G), but I can get an amazing price on a brand new one of these:

This just means that my JL audio components and Alpine amp will be going in at the same time.

Thanks for all the help guys. I appreciate it!
