OEM Audio Video Composite RCA Plate

Need a little bit of help on my audio install for 2006 G35x Sedan. I have the factory nav screen and purchased the TVandNAV2Go and along with that will be installing the PKG-M780 Headrest monitors.

I plan to hook up my iPhone using the Apple Composite A/V Dock cable that I have had laying around. I would like to do a custom install of a audio/video RCA connection plate. I know when I had a service loaner for the 09 G35, they had the Red, White, Yellow connections in the center console and I would like to do something similar to that.

I wanted to know if anyone has any pictures of the center console taken apart showing the back side of this A/V plate and/or know if I just buy this part from Infiniti if it could be used (from a connection point of view, not mounting).

It is either the factory approach or buying these plugs from the following:

http://www.l-com.com/item.aspx?id=8305

If I go the L-Com route I would just buy all three colors and drill a hole for each one, but I have some concerns with room behind/underneath the console as I would have this plug poking out along with the RCA cable plugging into the back side.

Since the apple A/V connection cable also has USB on it, I purchased the Belkin Micro Adapter for power.

So my setup will look like this:

iPhone --> Apple A/V Cable --> Center Console Video Plate and USB --> A/V Patch Wires --> PKG-M780 Brain --> TVandNav2Go (Factory Nav Screen) AND Headrest Monitors.

Factory piece is probably going to be like $100 or more, and after all the trimming to make it fit, look worse than just drilling the holes for the plugs yourself.

I will be considering all options, but would like to see the back of the factory plug to see how it is setup. If it is pretty flat, then I may have more options on where to mount it. I have been searching google for a few days now and cannot find anything that "looks" nice outside of the L-Com solution and that is why I am curious about the factory plate (i.e. do I just drill three holes and epoxy the core plate from the back or is it something bulky and "all-in-one").

You could do the female RCA connectors that just have terminals for soldering wire onto, they won't take up as much room on the other side.

Plus, you're not limited to putting them on the bottom of the console. You can use the sides, back, front... build an additional compartment on the side so they're recessed...
