Audio Help Needed

Hey guys, i'm piecing together some audio stuff for my audio build. I plan on changing the head unit, all interior speakers, and adding a sub. Let me know if I am missing anything.

Alpine IVA-W505
(1) JL Audio 12W6v2
JL Audio C2-650 6.5" Component (Front Speakers)
JL Audio C2-650X 6.5" 2-Way (Rear Speakers)
JL Audio Slash v2 500/1v2 (Amp for Sub)
JL Audio Slash v2 300/4v2 (Amp for Speakers)

Do I need any type of adapter or spacer for the front and rear door speakers?

Thanks

Sounds like you need a 6 channel amp. I ran my inside speakers on a four channel amp for a while, with the rear sets in parallel. I purchased a new JL XD 600/6 amp. I am pretty happy with it. Yeah you will probably need a spacer ring or two. You COULD hack and cut the bose speaker you take out and use the outer housing. A bit messy but would work in a pinch.

I like that fact you are going all JL! Most of my system is JL as well.

Yeah my boy had a complete JL system in an Altima and I fell in love.

If you're going with a sub, I wouldn't put 6x9's in the rear deck at all. Unless you seal the 6x9's, they'll get pushed around by the SPL generated from sub in the trunk. The need for rear speakers at all in the coupe is debatable for sound quality anyway, but if you've got quality components in the rear already, putting something on the deck is just a waste.

Do a 4-channel amp that'll push 110+ watt per channel at 4ohms, A/B-class (or a really good D-class) amp for the front and rears, so that those C2-650s have a little bit of headroom and can produce sound to the fullest.

So if I take off the 6x9's and upgrade the rear 2-way's to components would I be set?

Would the JL Audio Slash v2 500/1v2 or JL Audio G4500 work for my setup?

If you take out the 6x9's, you wouldn't have to change the rear 2-ways to components. You would be fine running the 2-ways. The JL Slash 500/1v2 will work for your setup, but will only be used to power the subwoofer. You will need a separate 4 channel amp for the components and 2-ways. I'd suggest the JL Audio 300/4 amp or 450/4 if you want to keep it all JL. You will need a set of speaker spacers for the front components, and a set for the rear 2-ways. You will also need a 0 or 2 gauge amp wiring kit, 2 channel rca's, 4 channel rca's, new speaker wire, PAC SWI-Jack if you want to retain your steering wheel controls, PAC TR-7 if you want to play video while driving, Double Din Kit for the deck, new wiring harness for the deck, and any sound deadening material if you decide you want to add some.

You can get the spacers here. They sell as pairs, so you will need to change the quantity to 2 since you will need 2 pairs.

Also, maybe upgrade the stock tweeters instead of removing them completely. This may just be a myth, but the higher they're mounted and the more they face you the better. And the stock location does a pretty good job of both, you just need to pick a set that will fit behind that tiny *** grill. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120533619937&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT They're even JLs to fit your theme.

Don't forget the subwoofer enclosure lol. I can't believe no body said anything about that yet!

^ components imply there's separate tweeters to replace.

Gotcha, didn't catch that. I guess just remember to put them in a high spot facing you then.
