^ I couldn't get it to work at first either. I think what ended up working for me was setting my ipod to shuffle then holding the preset 4. Now when I push preset 4 it goes to shuffle.

I tried that.....at least I think I did it the way you are describing. when I would hold preset 4 it would just save over "genre or all songs" or whatever was mapped on there during set up.

^I think you must have received a faulty unit. I did the instructions over again and my random work just as the instructions say it should. I hold preset 4.

gmoney, thanks for checking on this for me. It makes me wonder if this is an issue with my radio, or the unit. Could it be because I had the Sat radio installed at the dealership?

It does a good job for a workaround aftermarket solution, however, I'm sending this unit back for a couple other reasons too.

1. Its too hard to go through the artists, albums etc. The only way to do so is to scroll, and its very slow. Would have been cool if you could somehow input a letter to narrow search.

2. I also have an iPhone 3gs, and I've got a new solution. I hook up through the av cables from the aux port, and put the mike adapter piece in line with that. That allows me to plug in and take advantage of the voice commands to selects songs, albums and even get song info. Sort of a poor mans ford sync.

Thanks for the input.

btw, when you hold preset 4, do you get a symbol on your display? Do you have nav, or the hard drive?

oh, so you must have an 07 coupe. Got it. That is a different radio all together. Thanks again. I feel good about my decision now.

What is a mike(mic?) adapter piece? What all the pieces and parts you are using to do this, i.e. interface pieces? Are you making 2 cables into 1? Yes, I'm an idiot. Keep this in mind when your responding.
