Check out some of the gap & trim install pictures in my gallery:

To post pics, I highly recommend using picasa - it's what I use. But to just attach pictures to a post, use the "Manage Attachments" button below the main reply stuff.

Wow, let me guess, you used stock holes on the mounting bracket. You can do this, but if I remember correctly you cannot use all four stock holes and get good position/alignment. Good thing on the g's is you can play with different options outside the car as the mounting bracket and trim all come out.

Play around with different holes and see if that helps. Remember to test fit trim before putting it back in the car.

EDIT: I had the d3 and used a trim ring and I think 2 of the mounting holes to hold it in. Between the two screws and a snug fit at the trim ring, it was a solid fit and didn't move at all.

Not mine, but it looks like every other flush-mounted one.
I believe the trim ring used is the Scosche one - check my DD shopping & resource list sticky for links.
But it'll end up looking about like this:

Is this the same trim ring on the pic because this one doesn't look like that one on the pic?

You just cut the middle out of it to fit.
