I just sold my avic D3, LOVED it. I had it in my tC...but now that I'm getting the G I got rid of it for the time being. Honestly I plan on buying it again in a few months along with the JDM double din, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to buy? Can someone tell me from this site?

07 coupe with silver trim...im guessing i need the trim, bracket and dual cc?

There's a sticky titled "SHOPPING LIST" with my name in it.

Start there.

Get something that doesn't need cds etc.. like the z1, z2, z3, its a lot better and has built in hardrive.. ** Not muchdifferent from all three.. just price... lolz.. i owned about 6 different ones... if you want cheap navi and radio / bluetooth built in .buy the avic 90bt. if but if not you might have to expend extra 130 on the bluetooth for the avic z1.z2 z3.. if you got money like that .. go get the new avic z120bt.. is sick .. i got the z110bt. hot.... built in bluetooth.. you can speak to your navi.. xm radio.. msn traffic info.... . navi.. 7" screen

Question pertaining to installing a double din HU, more specifically the Pioneer Avic D3. Do I lose the bass control? Well I'm assuming there is a small amp/sub package in the car. I bought the harnesses from Crutchfield and the Metra kit from eBay, but I'm just wondering how much of the sound I'll lose installing it. Thanks!

what do you mean by bass control?

does your amp have a bass **** to adjust the level of output?

or

do you mean adjust bass level like 0,+1,+2 or 0,-1,-2?

the D3 has an adjustment for the sub specifically, audio settings then sub

No, what I mean is I have a G35 with the Bose system (assuming it as an amp/sub package in the car), will I lose the Bose "bass" or using the harness from Crutchfield seen here (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207075...e-Harness.html). Basically what I'm asking, am I going to lose any sound quality/power from the original Bose system by putting the D3 in?

your bose sub will still work with that harness

the D3 will not help on sound quality because the bose amps are producing the sound and will EQ the signal

The Pioneer would be my choice as well.

One last question. If I buy this http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127SWIX/PAC-SWI-X.html will I be able to retain the functionality of my steering wheel controls with the D3 I'm installing? Does anybody have experience with that or a similar SWI Interface? I really want to keep the convenient steering wheel controls. Thanks again!

SWI-PS for the pioneers.

Hook up the right resistors like this:

... and connect them to the correct wires on the harness, ground the appropriate wires, give the SWI-PS power, and program it.

Programming is a snap, there's a video of me showing you how to do it in my DDin sticky.

It's standard in all that they don't let you input destinations while the vehicle is in motion, but there's bypasses for that kind of babysitting on most units.
