It just comes down to the fact imo if you love it you will do it if its not your thing you wont.. Like i said that my opinion.. My Monte Carlo i spent about $6k in that system and loved it.. Nothing like hearing 2-15's pounding away lol and the screamin highs of MB Quarts

But if you want something while you consider if a $700 unit is worth it, I can't recommend the Pioneer U310BT enough.
It's less than $300. It comes with bluetooth. It has a detachable face, SD card slot, aux inputs, good iPod interface, practically instant-on, (small) touchscreen and sounds good. It has navigation too, which is ok, but its points of interest are severely lacking. However, if you took the navigation from it completely, I'd still say it's a good unit for the price.
If you've already got the JDM kit, it's a good way to go.

I was pointing out the fact that once you buy the JDM kit, a cheap double din and the necessary wiring harnesses, you've shelled out roughly $700...Where a ipod integration device can be bought for much cheaper thus extending the usable life of the factory head unit.....It's just another option for tightwads such as myself....

You can buy a new 160gb iPod and a wired FM modulator that plugs into the antenna socked in the back of the radio and get sound quality comparable to the add-on adapters for under $300.
