Need help/guidance/suggestion for sound system upgrade
Whats up? As the "too long" title states I need help building a decent sound system. I have the following:
Car: 2003 Sedan
Budget: 1500-2000
Type of Music: Hip Hop, R&B and Latin
I have already upgraded my HU to the Avic F90bt. I am confused with all of the technical jargon about speakers/subs/enclosure and amps. All help is greatly appreciated. However, i was looking at getting a 4080 box with a JL W6 and a 500/1 amp also upgrade my speakers to either the infinity kappas or beyma 6.5...all of this info is from friends suggestions and searching through the forums. I would however like to be an educated consumer and know what Im getting for my money, so as previously stated - I will greatly appreciate any assistance.
thanks

That's good solid budget to play with, about what I used with mine -
Deadener:
SoundDeadenerShowdown.com CLD Tiles (bought 60square feet to get the free roller and maybe have extra to do my wife's)
Sub:
4080 box
JL 10w6v2
JL 500/1v2
Remote sub control for the JL amp also
Mids:
JL 300/4
Front -
Boston Acoustics Pro60SE
Rear -
Boston Acoustics SC65s
Wire:
Shielded RCAs are much better than twisted pair in scientific tests, but at the length in cars, it really doesn't matter.
14awg speaker wire through woofersetc.com
I sourced parts primarily from amazon for best prices - discountsjungle, audiosource and a couple others through amazon. No problems.

I had Kappa 6.5's in my last car, good crisp sound, but missing a bit of mids, however, in their defense they were running off a headunit, not a dedicated amp. So very good for the price, but I'd include something to fill between them and the subs.
No experience with the beymas, and BA's are very good sound quality... not sure if they're worth the premium price or not.
