After market Radio Installation issues
After market Radio Installation issues
Hey guys, not sure if anyone can help me. I got the Pioneer AVH 4200 put into my 06 Coupe with factory nav, the installation was done by Visions in Calgary, the only issue I am having now is that my cigarette lighter, emergency lighter, and ash tray/coin tray light does not light up. I am not sure if these are connected to the same fuse, would the new installation blow out the fuse easily or do you believe its a connection that was not made? If anyone has ran into these issues please let me know.

You said it doesn't light up only? Try plugging an outlet in and see if you can power something, if it doesn't the people who installed your radio may have disconnected something, if you are still able to power something, it is just the bulb and you can easily replace that but its not very important. Yay for Pioneer AVH4200, how you liking it? I got mine a few months ago.
The light bulb does not light up, the cig lighter does not heat up and the emergency blinker button does not turn on the emergency blinkers when pushed so I think that entire bottom part of the console is not plugged, I don't think all three things are tied into the same fuse. Everything worked before the DD installation. The 4200 is completely sold out in Calgary, its on back order from Pioneer apparently but the Visions Audio manager from NE calgary got me one apparently last one in Calgary. I love the deck good interface, nice easy to use touch screen no freezing issues. The thing I noticed is the Stock Bose deck gave better sound quality I believe the Pioneer you can change the sound in the EQ but the thing is its just not that Bose sound or maybe it is me. The sound quality is not as rich as the Bose sound was. The deck is still straight up sick I love sitting in my G ride everyday after work and just crankin it. Plus it looks sick to have the OEM Navi and the 4200 at night people driving next to me keep starin into my ride.
Yeah, sounds like they didn't connect the two harnesses to that piece when they put it back together.
If you have a 6MT, pull on the edge of the base of the shifter towards the rear of the car, and it'll pop up. Connect the two connectors that aren't plugged in.
If you have a 5AT, pull down on the ring beneath the top of the shifter, pull the pin out towards the front of the car, and pull the top of the shifter up and off. Gently pry the base off and up, and plug the two connectors back in.
If you need more assistance on removing the shifter plate, see the linked resources in my DD sticky at the top of this forum.
