Aftermarket with OEM NAV?

I just came back from best buy and they told me if i want an aftermarket stero i would lose my built in NAV. Although they weren't 100% sure.

So if any one here could give me a definitive answer. I would only change my default stero if i can keep my gps navigation. So if it is possible what kit and other parts would i need.

Thanks for any help

Thank you for your quick response but what exactly would i need to get voice to work "home made parts". And i'm guessing i can just get a JDM kit and would have to buy the hvac controlls speartely as normal.

thanks for the link i googled the JDM 68260-7W000 since i have a 05 G35 sedan but i have a OEM Nav

"DM Double Din finisher plate for the 05-07 G35 Coupe. This piece allows you to add a double din head unit to your non-nav equipped Infiniti G35 Coupe." Source: http://www.envisionelite.com/Interio..._Finisher.html

Stupid question but could i still use it. If i can't can u recommend another one?

^ You would still need the AC controls, which they have there at that site on the related products. Save yourself the $10 and get the JDM kit from Riverside Infiniti as what Wratheraut has in his guide.

Sorry the site that i mentioned states that JDM 68260-7W000 is for a non-nav.
"This piece allows you to add a double din head unit to your non-nav equipped Infiniti" So my question is if i can still use it. Since i have a navigation system.

Thanks,

It's been done before, it just needs a little motivation as you put it together.

Again, I'll be putting mine together (JDM + Stock Nav) in a few days (FLY TONIGHT!!!) and I can't promise high-quality, but I'll be videoing as much of the install as I can.

So i sent an e-mail to j's garage and found out there are two types of jdm dd kits.

68260-7W000 (double din w/o navi):18360yen
68260-7W010 (double din without radio a navigation):18360 yen

so i'm guessing i should just go with the second one right

Hey, I just got the Pioneer 4200-dvd put into my 06 coupe with factory nav, I got the JDM double din dash kit and my installer called me and said he can not put the navigation in with the new dvd deck because it won't fit. I went and checked it out and yes it was very tight, it took him a few hours but he got it to work, the only thing is the nav buttons are under the jdm dash kit a bit like it sits awkward but still kept my nav. You also gotta rip out this swede protector from the top of the nav buttons so the nav screen can go all the way down.....I will try to post pictures later. I had to coax my installer with a case of beer to complete this install took him 5 hours.

This is good news. Had no idea there were two kits. Was not interested in doing this because of the tight fitment issues. Now, hmmmmm...
