Has anyone figured out how to use the Sat port for hooking up their carputer or ipod? I want a high fidelity hookup and found the FM transmitters and cassette adapters to be sub par. Ideally, I would like to make a box for the headphone output to hook into the satelight radio port.

You can do a quick search here and see that most people are now using the PAC AAI-NIS unit. I carry the unit and it is great. It is a digital bridge, which allows you to connect up to two aux sound sources for input in to your headunit via the SAT button.

You should note that the PAC unit requires disconnection of any factory SAT tuner you may have installed. You cannot have both SAT radio and the PAC unit installed.

The sound is as perfect as you can expect. The PAC unit basically emulates an actual SAT tuner... I can't imagine it getting any better...

The only thing digital about it is the computer interface that simulates the presence of a SAT tuner. The SAT's audio lines are differential analog.
