Bad reception with Radio?
Hey guys, I recently installed a non-bose headunit into a bose G35 but I'm having some complications. I wired the speakers directly to each other now, and bypassed the amplifier. Although, I gave my friend the stock headunit that came out of my car which was in working perfect condition. Except, now that in his car everytime it seems he drives into a tunnel and random times here and there the radio would cut off. It can't be the headunit because I never had any issues with it when I used it. And no, he is not going to replace his headunit with something aftermarket because he wants to keep things original.
The radio is not overheating either, any ideas? I've been pondering this issue for awhile now.

I have bad reception too where is the antenna amplifier located to check this problem.
Mine started last year when I went to an aftermarket amp and removed the Bose one from the trunk.
I get some stations but always fuzzy on others, sometime when I'm at a traffic light the radio comes in really bad but if I roll the car forward a couple feet it will come in better.

Anyone have the FSM for this attenna?
How do you even connect to the attenna? I know theres a connection in the back of the headunit, but that's connected in all the way.
I'm going to look at the stock attenna amp but I wouldn't know how to test it since I don't have an extra one laying around lol.
edit: i did some digging around and another guy is having that issue when he bypassed his stock amplifier but no solution.

The antenna amp doesn't go through the Bose amp at all, so bypassing the amplifier shouldn't matter.
Probably best to check the fuses, as the FSM doesn't include anything on diagnosing the ant amp itself at all, just testing the antenna in the rear windshield.

That's really strange that people get this problem after bypassing the bose amp though, I've read three posts about "attenna amps" and they both said they just changed the amplifier and now they get bad radio reception.
There's gotta be a solution!
