Self Install Pics

A hometheater buff turned 1st time audio installer. Even put a changer in the upper glove box (not yet in the pics).

Let me know your thoughts...

Re: Self Install Pics

Yeah, the head unit seems to stick out a bit far. Must be the trim piece that makes it look that way. Also, aren't you afraid the amps might overheat being covered by the carpet? Install looks very clean!! Especially with that stealth box. What head unit and speakers are you running?

Re: Self Install Pics

The head unit is a Sony CDX-8800. It is a little over sized width wise, perhaps a couple of millimeters. Are you referring to the way the unit sticks out when you open it up to use the "manual face"? Otherwise when it's closed (for use with the remote), perhaps the pic is misleading?

As for the Amps, I'm going to tighten that up just a bit with some vinyl and lighting. However they are in the wheel well, far below the cover and carpet when covered.

The other pieces in the system are:
Boston Pro Series 6.5 up front
Boston SL6.5 in rear
JL 10W3v2 sub
JL 250/1
JL 300/4

Skaline,

Like your ride. Curious as to where you got the battery cover. Or did you just paint that yourself?

Also, did you lower the car any with the 20's? I'm bouncing between 19's with the Eibach Pro Kit or 20's without.

Re: Self Install Pics

amz11,

Thanks, I got the battercover from StrictlyZ and painted it myself to match the other battery cover and engine cover.

I did not lower the car with 20's but I kinda want to. I dunno, seems OK as is.
