I have an 04 g35x and my stereo powers up and everything seems to work but no music. the stereo will beep through the speakers but no music at all! any suggestions at all would be nice.

 

When does the stock stereo beep at all?

Have you tested CDs in addition to AM/FM?

 

The stereo beeps when I push the automatic preset button. Yes I have tried CDs and tapes.

 

One other thing I have an iPod PAC unit installed. Does anyone know if this goes bad could it cause this.

 

Well, there's only wired connection to the amp/speakers, so any failure that lets beeps from the headunit get to the speakers is within the headunit itself.

Marketplace is the cheapest place for factory units, but having an '04 means the Metra kit doesn't look bad in yours, so you can do anything from a budget single-din install for under $300, or do a JDM install with a kickass headunit for $1500+. It all depends on your budget.
